Spores can only be obtained during Ganoderma’s natural lifecycle and cannot be replicated through artificial growing methods. As these Spores develop they look like fine baby powder which is collected by hand using a brush. To visualize how difficult Spores are to collect, it takes 1,000kg of collection to make 1kg of Spores.

Organic Ganoderma Lucidum Spore Powder – Ganoderma Spores are the seeds of the Ganoderma lucidum.
The fruit body of the fungi matures after 5-7 months to release numerous ganoderma spores through minuscule pores present at its base. There are different components of the Ganoderma mushroom – the spores (seeds ready to pollinate), the Mycellium (early harvest,) and the lucidum (the mature plant).

Ganoderma spores are expensive in part because harvesting them has to be timed just right – and because how the spores are ‘opened’ can impact the quality.
A ganoderma lucidum takes about 5-7 months to mature. When it does, it will release spores in a most amazing array of nature. The spores are released from the underside of the mushroom and cover the entire mushroom within a few minutes. Within a few hours the entire micro-environment is covered by spores. It takes almost 900 kg of spores to make 1 kg of spore powder.
